Rory Lang is a lawyer at Asia Pacific Legal (Firm) and is the head of the Firm and its corporate, commercial, employment, energy, and resources practice.

Rory has fourteen years of experience in Australia and Asia, and prior to founding APL, Rory held senior legal positions in Australia and internationally with major Australian and international U.S., law firms Duane Morris LLP, and Minter Ellison LLP. During his career, Rory has also worked as a senior legal counsel in-house on secondment at major international resources companies which include Rio Tinto, Gold Fields, a leading University, and at the South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council.

Rory holds the following qualifications:

Daniel Morris is a Senior Legal Consultant at Firm and is the head of the Firm’s litigation, projects and investigations practice.

 

Admitted to practise law in 2003, Daniel has advised on major projects, investigated and litigated in a variety of practice areas, including construction, Commonwealth crime/complex fraud investigations, corporate and commercial disputes, personal property security law, planning and development, property disputes, vocational regulation and equity and trusts. Daniel is experienced in all aspects of domestic and international investigations, arbitrations, litigation and dispute resolution, including as trial and appellate counsel in all WA courts and as junior counsel in the High Court of Australia. Since 2007, Daniel has developed particular expertise in construction law, and in the development and provision of bespoke tailored legal services to in house clients (which includes delivery of his “Time Unbarred” compliance tool).

 

Daniel graduated from the University of Melbourne’s Construction Law Masters and has been widely published in the area, including in the prestigious Australian Law Journal and the International Construction Law Report. Daniel consults regularly to the Academic Subcommittee of the Society of Construction Law Australia, has lectured in law at several universities, has coached and judged the WA Law Society’s School Mock Trial competition and has presented to various professional and industry audiences, including the WA Building Commission, Legalwise, the Civil Contractors’ Federation, the Master Builders Association, the Society of Construction Law, the Chartered Institute of Building, the Australian Institute of Architects and the Resolution Institute.

 

Daniel:

●Was the 2014 Winner of the Brooking Prize (Society of Construction Law Australia);

●Was awarded a High Commendation in the 2019 Brooking Prize Competition (Society of Construction Law Australia); and

●Is the sole technical designer, inventor and founder of “Time Unbarred”, an easy-to-use, intuitive, automated construction contract compliance tool for use in house by major corporates.

Amy is a seasoned personal assistant and the Firm administrator with over 25 years of experience.

Amy has a wealth of international banking, commercial, legal and not for profit experience developed in major corporates in Australia, New Zealand, London (UK), and Asia.

This includes having previously worked for major financial institutions, ANZ, in New Zealand, Royal and Sun Alliance in London, and for international conglomerate, Serco, in Australia.

Amy is responsible for overseeing the general day-to-day administrative operations of the Firm. This includes, but is not limited to, business development, managing Firm enquiries, client queries, clerical duties, liaising with and assisting Firm lawyers, scheduling meetings, and paralegal support.
